This month we will be revitalizing the farm that supports the families of Upward Bound House by doing what we do best - digging in together! Our day will include weeding, mulching, amending soil and planting, all while making new friendships, eating delicious food and growing community!

Upward Bound House’ ultimate goal is to help homeless families lead healthy, independent lives, using the foundation of permanent housing as a springboard to opportunities in employment, education, and other key life domains.

UBH's Wellness Program offers families, clinically-designed, and developmentally-appropriate activities on its full-fledged organic farm. Located in Santa Monica, the urban farm, donated by Roque & Mark, plays a vital role in reducing food insecurity for UBH participants, while providing practical healthy living life skills.

Hey Good Karma Garden Crew!

Let’s celebrate summer and garden at the Learning Garden!! We'll be learning about hot composting, feeding our fruit trees to maximize health/fruit production, and turning over the GKG plot for the season.

Food and music as always, bring your sun protection and garden clothes. Bike if you can!

The Learning Garden is connected to Venice Highschool and is open every weekend from 12 to 3 for community engagement. It's an incredibly cool space full of medicinal and native plants. Can't wait to garden and enjoy the outdoors with y'all soon :)
