When Christina moved to the area from Texas, she brought with her a passion for community gardening and a desire to give back. Though she noticed several local gardens, she wasn't sure how to get involved until a Google search led her straight to Nourish LA. She signed up for a shift and quickly became an indispensable Sunday staple of our volunteer family.
Christina is the kind of volunteer who jumps into any task with ease, and she is often the very last person on-site, working alongside our staff to finish cleaning up. What keeps her coming back each week is the incredible community we’ve built; she shares that the people here are what truly move her.
Christina recently shared a beautiful moment from Mother's Day that touched her deeply. While working the flower station, she witnessed an outpouring of love and emotion from our neighbors. In a moment that truly touched her heart, a female recipient was so moved by the gesture that she asked Christina for a hug. We are incredibly grateful to have Christina’s hard work, deep empathy, and beautiful spirit as part of our Nourish LA family!
