Good Karma Gardens Work Day 8.22.26

On Saturday August 22nd, Good Karma Gardens volunteers along with community families and friends had an amazing summer day at the Beach Moms Child Care Development Center in Santa Monica.

The Beach Moms’ Initiative is to provide kids with access to green space, fresh-grown healthy food, and hands-on education. Good Karma Gardens (GKG) furthered this initiative by planting banana trees, a passion fruit vine, native plants in the parkway, and flowers. They also donated a compost bin and painted signs for the garden!

Everyone beat the heat with a reusable water balloon fight and delicious refreshments and snacks recovered by Nourish LA volunteers from Jyaan Isaac, Tartine Bakery, and donated by Yerba Madre. GKG also teamed up with the LA Running Club to make this the first ever Dash-n-Dig event with a run to the beach in the morning!

Check out our event calendar to join us at the next Workday.

We look forward to seeing you there!
